I double posted this with Ohio related Bee events.

This is a must for new beekeepers.

Registration for the Southwestern Ohio Beekeeper School held at the Oasis Conference Center in Loveland on Saturday March 27, 2010 is now open. They are only accepting 300 registrants and it is first come, first served. This school has a long history and is very popular, so much so that last year registration closed two weeks after opening with this year expected to go even quicker. The lectures are top notch, every major bee supply vendor in the business is present and the catered lunch is served on real china with cloth napkins! If you only attend one bee keeping school ever this should be the one hands down! The registration form can be down loaded here http://warren.osu.edu/topics/agriculture-and-natural-resources/news/registration-open-for-2010-southwestern-ohio-beekeeper-school

Thanks for posting this, I've been looking for a way to get some hands on experience.

The link you provided is now broken (at least it did not work for me). Here's the main page for the class:

Yeah, the IBA show was excellent last year. I spent all day listening to Randy Oliver in the main room.

There is also another Ohio School up in Wooster that is pretty good too.

http://www.ohiostatebeekeepers.org/

The Ohio State University Honey Bee Lab and Tri-County Beekeepers’ Association Spring Workshop will be held Friday & Saturday, March 5 & 6, 2010, at OSU’s Fisher Auditorium and Shisler Center at 1680 Madison Ave., Wooster, OH. The program will start on Friday evening at 6:00 p.m. with tours of the OSU Beekeeping Museum, at 7:00 p.m. Dr. James E. Tew will speak about “Good Bees in Bad Places” and concurrently Ms. Kathy Summers on “Bee Culture through the Years”.
