KY mentors?

I am hoping to find someone in the Independence/N Grant county area who is working with bees, and will let me tag along.

I live in Independence. However I am only a first year beek. Have you checked out the Northern KY Beekeepers club? They are having a meeting Jan.5th at the Campbell County Ed. center in A.J. Jolly Park. They are also having a bee school Feb. 27th 1-4 same place. I also belong to Warren County Beekeepers club. They are a much larger and more active club. They meet the first sunday of the month except in January in Lebanon. It takes me an hour to get to the meeting but I feel it is well worth it.
Are you in Independence? do you have any hives yet?

Sounds great! I hadn't heard of this group. I don't think I can make a Jan 5 meeting, but maybe the Feb stuff. Is there a contact for this?

I have a couple of wild hives, but I haven't set up anything to collect honey.

You can call Susan Kahmann @ (859)781-8977 Northern Ky Beekeepers. You can also check the Ky Beekeepers Asso. web site for other bee clubs and bee schools. There is a large bee school in Frankfort March 13th. There is also a bee school put on by the Warren County Beekeepers. It will be comming up in a few weeeks. Don't limit yourself to just things in KY.
I read about some bee classes in Wooster, Ohio I may go to March 5&6th.
